Acerca de este producto
Product Information
In March 1982, Argentina surprised the world by invading the Falkland Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. The tiny islands had long been the subject of a fierce territorial dispute between Argentina and the UK, and the occupation quickly escalated into a terrifying full-blown conflict between the two countries. Often referred to as a forgotten war, the Falklands conflict was, in actual fact, the first war of the modern age, using satellite surveillance, night observation devices, and all the very latest weaponry military technology had to offer. It was also the first real media war uathe public's perception of this far-off conflict mediated by what they saw on their television screens and read in their newspapers. Objective analysis on both sides took a back seat to the politics of expediency and crude appeals to nationalism. Drawing upon the vast resources of the Imperial War Museum's Sound Archive, and containing previously unpublished material, Forgotten Voices of the Falklands War presents the first complete oral history of the Falklands War. From the initial invasion of the islands to the British landings to the Argentinean surrender and its aftermath, the book is a unique and essential chronicle of the conflict from all sides and perspectives, told in the participants' own voices. Hugh McManners, who himself fought in the Falklands War, has created the definitive oral history book on the subject.

- b***r (633)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaExcellent experience, these are probably the best large bookseller warehouse on eBay , their customer service is personal and responsive and they endeavour to make sure the buyers experience is a good one . Despatched promptly, and this time it was a paperback so it was ok in a polythene envelope. If you are purchasing a heavy hardback , I suggest contacting them in advance, and hopefully they will have implemented robust cardboard packaging to ensure it doesn't get damaged in the post.

The condition of this book was exactly as described, if not better in appearance than expected, and as always with this business it represents great value and quality for your money! Communication is first class, and their customer service never fails to deliver, leaving you wanting to buy more from them every time you look at their vast collection. Thank you so much, 5 stars again!!!The Deepening Pool: Chronicle of a Compulsive Angler,Christopher Yates (#133757590011)
- 1***1 (354)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaThe item was delivered ahead of expected time. It is as described in good condition. It was competitively priced. There could have been a little bit more packaging on the book corners as it looks like it had been dropped on one corner during transit. Other than that the quality is as expected. I would recommend this ebayer
