Players begin by adopting and naming a cute baby chimp, and then forming a bond with the frightened young creature by feeding it, keeping it clean, giving it toys, and speaking to it using the DS microphone. Chimps also need mental stimulation, so gamers must raise their pet's intelligence level by joining in on fruit-collecting, number-chasing, and music-playing mini-games. Players can also simply sit back and watch as their chimp plays on its own, or visit the "Chimp Center" to learn educational facts about real chimpanzees.
