Players take control of the careers of four talented young figure skaters -- Kelly, Gabrielle, Alyssa, and Madison -- each chosen by a mysterious dance instructor for training to compete in the "Princess on Ice Tournament." A central storyline leads players to larger stadiums and greater applause as they master increasingly complicated moves. Players can customize their skaters' appearance and apparel, as well as some of the routines they will skate. Routines are performed by playing touch-screen games with the stylus, such as tapping a series of symbols in time with the music.
