Reviews
"Confessions of a Grammar Queen is for everyone who loved Lessons in Chemistry--but it's even better because instead of chemistry, it's about books! I adored main character Bernadette, whose pluck and charm have you rooting for her throughout the story as she navigates love, the sexist 1960s publishing industry and a boss who just wants to keep her in her place. This is going to be THE book of the summer, so make sure you get your hands on a copy!" -- Natasha Lester, New York Times bestselling author of The Paris Orphan

Synopsis
There are no female publishing CEOs in 1960's New York. And that is exactly what savvy, ambitious Bernadette Swift plans to change. Bernadette Swift, a young copyeditor at Lenox & Park Publishing, is determined to become the first female CEO in the publishing industry. But first she needs to take the next step up that ladder with a promotion that her boorish and sexist boss wants to thwart. Seeking a base of support, Bernadette joins a feminist women's book club at the New York Public Library, and soon, she's inspiring her fellow members to challenge the male gatekeepers and decades of ingrained sexism in their workplaces and pursue their personal and professional dreams. And that is precisely what Bernedette does on a daily basis: keeps her eye on the prize--equality for women in the workplace, and a promotion--while fending off the ire of her boss and the sabotaging efforts of a jealous coworker. With the support of her book club buddies and a certain charismatic editor at Lenox & Park who has completely fallen for her, maybe, just maybe, Bernadette will prove able to claim victory for herself and the young women coming after her.

- e***t (29)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaThe condition of this book was as described - it is like new and in very good condition. However, seller sold this book that is marked on the front and back covers "Advanced Reader's Copy - Not for Sale." This information was not on the cover of the book I bought. This was a free book not intended for sale. I did communicate this to the seller and requested a refund. They would only do so if I returned the book. I chose to not return it as they may resell it to someone else.
- e***- (121)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaUnfortunately I received a damaged book, the item and the package both were damaged and it was clearly evident its appearance that it happened during transit. The seller was very understanding and gave me a full refund for the damaged book, though it was no fault of their own. Other than the damage, the book was as described, the quality and condition aside from the damaged spot was like new. The cost of the book was reasonable. I would definitely purchase from the seller again.
- v***v (2098)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaAlthough this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate. How to chalk talk, by Harlan Tarbell (#197064259889)
- 7***j (849)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaI recently purchased an item from this eBay seller, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The item arrived exactly as described and was well-packaged to ensure its safety during transit. The seller was courteous and responsive, making the entire transaction smooth and hassle-free. I highly recommend this seller to anyone looking for quality products and excellent service.
