Synopsis
Read the timeless classic about the beloved Anne Shirley, a red-haired orphan with a fiery spirit, behind the hit Netflix series Anne with an E --now celebrating a hundred years of this children's favorite. " [Anne is] the dearest and most lovable child in fiction since the immortal Alice. " --Mark Twain Eleven-year-old Anne Shirley has never known a real home. Since her parents' deaths, she's bounced around to foster homes and orphanages. When she is sent by mistake to live with Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert at the snug white farmhouse called Green Gables, she wants to stay forever. But Anne is not the sturdy boy Matthew and Marilla were expecting. She's a talkative redheaded girl with a fierce temper, who tumbles into one scrape after another. Anne is not like anybody else; she is a girl with an enormous imagination and boundless passion. All she's ever wanted is to belong somewhere. And the longer she stays at Green Gables, the harder it is for anyone to imagine life without her. This special Collector's Edition includes the original, unabridged text, a specially commissioned biography of L.M. Montgomery, and a map of Prince Edward Island., Read the timeless classic about the beloved Anne Shirley, a red-haired orphan with a fiery spirit, before the new NETFLIX series premieres and don't miss the forward by Margaret Atwood, author of The Handmaid's Tale , celebrating the 100th anniversary of this children's favorite Eleven-year-old Anne Shirley has never known a real home. She's a mischievous, talkative redheaded girl with a fierce temper, who tumbles into one scrape after another. Anne is not like anybody else, the Cuthberts agree; she is special, a girl with an enormous imagination. All she's ever wanted is to belong somewhere. And the longer she stays at Green Gables, the harder it is for anyone to imagine life without her. " Anne is] the dearest and most lovable child in fiction since the immortal Alice. "-Mark Twain, As soon as Anne Shirley arrived at the snug, white farmhouse called Green Gables, she knew she wanted to stay forever...but would the Cuthberts send her back to the orphanage? Anne knows she's not what they expected--a skinny girl with decidedly red hair and a temper to match. If only she could convince them to let her stay, she'd try very hard not to keep rushing headlong into scrapes or blurt out the very first thing she had to say. Anne was not like anybody else, everyone at Green Gables agreed; she was special--a girl with an enormous imagination. This orphan girl dreamed of the day when she could call herself Anne of Green Gables. From the Paperback edition.

- a***4 (322)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaThe book was in excellent condition, as described in the listing, and was excellently packaged, arriving in unblemished condition. The shipping time was very quick. While the listing showed the book with a dust jacket, the book did not come with one. I brought this to the attention of the seller, who responded to me right away, and was satisfied with the seller's explanation. I have to say that the service was in every way outstanding.
- h***2 (1192)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaThe book arrived swiftly packaged in a protective plastic envelope, but it was a paperback not hardcover as listed. I contacted seller and they apologized, refunded me and suggested several things to do with the book after allowing me to keep it. I have gone ahead and ordered a hardcover from the same seller. I’m a repeat customer and hope to remain so. This mixup was a first, but I’m very impressed with their prompt response and professionalism. Kudos :)
