I initially couldn't figure out how the 2 "14" pieces attached to the catio, but they don't. They actually attach to your house and the roof is laid on top of them to be screwed into place. The less house damage the better so I just used double sided velcro to attach the roof. It looks good, though. I also don't feel comfortable leaving an entire side door open so I cut a square of screen out and added a pet door.
