It is solid metal, not some cheap faux chrome thing, a good solid object. The clip is strong, too. A fabulous object. Like other buyers the issue with the bulb is ver frustrating :-O Patience and persistence gets the job done... eventually! Thank you very much.

I cannot fault the company enough on their communication and understanding. We now have a working lamp and the quality is just what we were after. Stuff happens out of anyones control but they were fantastic with dealing with the problem. Its in perfect condition and was shipped in a well packaged box.
