Acerca de este producto
Product Information
'History, reportage, travel writing, wisdom and recipes - entertaining and enlightening' Sunday Times The Basques are Europe's oldest people, their origins a mystery, their language related to no other on Earth, and even though few in population and from a remote and rugged corner of Spain and France, they have had a profound impact on the world. Whilst inward-looking, preserving their ancient language and customs, the Basques also struck out for new horizons, pioneers of whaling and cod fishing, leading the way in exploration of the Americas and Asia, were among the first capitalists and later led Southern Europe's industrial revolution. Mark Kurlansky, the author of the acclaimed Cod, blends human stories with economic, political, literary and culinary history to paint a fascinating picture of an intriguing people.

- i***l (11)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaThis is my second time buying from this seller and I would definitely place another order in the future. This time I ordered three books and everything went well. The books arrived in great condition, matching the description. As always they are very carefully wrapped. The prices are great and the communication is always very kind and clear.. responses very quickly. Highly recommend this seller.
- e***p (93)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaThis book arrived in good condition and as described and good was good value as were the other books I ordered. Unfortunately the packaging didn't survive Royal Mails handling and this was the only book I received of five I had ordered. I contacted WeBuyBooks and they have been brilliant in trying to resolve the issue of the missing books. They are replacing one that they still have in stock though unfortunately are unable to do so for the other three so are issuing a refund for these.
- s***s (77)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaOne of my go to sellers for second hand books. I purchased 3 in one go this time and they came packaged in a box, rather than a flimsy plastic sleeve that a lot of companies use, which really makes a difference. I was a little concerned when I realised this one was an ex-library book, but I don't think it's ever been read as the condition is like new, so it was exactly as described in the listing. Dispatch and delivery were super quick too. Great value. Very happy. 5*. Many thanks.
