Synopsis
Like many other movie enthusiasts, you may have dreamt of entering the mind of one of your favorite filmmakers; to discover its nooks and crannies; to lose yourself in its corridors; unearth its secrets; wander around as if you were visiting a museum. With their attention to detail, rich cinematic allusions, witty dialogue, and colorful universes, Was Anderson's films are more inviting than any other for such a phantasmagorical stroll. Whether you're a devoted fan or new to Anderson's work, this technicolor treasury promises to ceptivate and surprise with its wealth of detail and evocative power. The year is 1975 and you have arrived at the doors of Wes Andersen's Imaginary Museum. Step inside, follow the guide, and explore the world of one of your favorite directors like never before., Welcome to the Wes Anderson museum--a place packed with illustrations, ephemera, trivia, and insightful commentary, and as whimsical and visually arresting as the cult director's films themselves. This museum in book form takes readers deep into the world of Wes Anderson. Bursting with an exhaustive and eclectic collection of film stills, accessories, clothes, souvenirs, books, and delightfully bizarre ephemera, this immersive treasury offers extraordinary insight into Wes Anderson's literary, musical, and cinematic influences, which range from Indian cinema, French pop music, Italian speed car racing, to The New Yorker magazine and the work of J. D. Salinger. Among the museum's artifacts are a recipe for a ham sandwich from The French Dispatch's Le Sans Blague cafe; the history of Tang--the drink of choice for the campers in Moonrise Kingdom; and the secret of L'Air de Panache, the cologne worn by the concierge of the Grand Budapest Hotel. Readers will discover Anderson's connections to the balalaika, The Beatles, and Benjamin Britten, and they'll discover how the filmmaker was inspired by the works of Hal Ashby, Satyajit Ray, Orson Welles, Mike Nichols, and Francis Ford Coppola. Perfect for dipping into and filled with information that will surprise even the most diehard Wes Anderson fan, this technicolor treasury is as profoundly entertaining as it is authoritative.

The book I bought was reasonably priced and when it arrived it was in the 'Like New' condition specified in the listing. However, when I saw that the seller had not shipped the book after more than 15 days had passed since my order I felt I must write to say that I had actually placed an order with the seller and inquire when it planned to send the book. The brusque reply was that a tracking number was available, but no number HAD been created until I pointed out that I had placed the order.
