Measuring and drawing classical buildings was the cornerstone of instruction at the famous Ecole des Beaux-Arts, and it remains the best training for an architect. This book reproduces two important texts by Georges Gromort, professor of architecture at the Ecole for half a century, with the addition of photographs of the buildings, still standing, on which the plates were based, and ten American drawings in the classical style.
