Synopsis
Sarah Forsyth has spent most of her life in fear. Born in Newcastle in 1976, from the age of three, the very people who were meant to be looking after and protecting her were sexually abusing her. Somehow overcoming the hurt and heartbreak of this horrific childhood, Sarah managed to build a new and happy life for herself as a nursery nurse., Sarah Forsyth has spent most of her life in fear. Born in Newcastle in 1976, from the age of three, the very people who were meant to be looking after and protecting her were sexually abusing her. Somehow overcoming the hurt and heartbreak of this horrific childhood, Sarah managed to build a new and happy life for herself as a nursery nurse. Then, one day, Sarah spotted a newspaper advert for a job in a creche in Amsterdam. Thrilled by the prospect of a fresh start away from Newcastle and all the memories it held, she eagerly signed up. But within minutes of stepping off the plan in Amsterdam her life began to fall apart. There was no creche and no job: Sarah was a victim of sex-trafficking. That night, at just twenty-one years of age, her life - her real life, her life as Sarah Forsyth - ended. Fed cocaine and cannabis, and forced at gunpoint to work as a prostitute in the Red Light District of Amsterdam, Sarah was turned from a young innocent English girl into a desperate and terrified crack whore. Riddled with fear about what her pimps would do to her if they caught her trying to run away, it took Sarah almost a year to find the strength to fight back and escape. But, unlike many of the girls that she was forced to live and work beside, she did get away. Sarah Forsyth is a survivor. This is her heart-rending story., In the sequel to Slave Girl , a survivor of the sex trade details her recovery process, which she realizes must include a return to the site of her trauma to aid others In Slave Girl, Sarah Forsyth told of her terrible ordeal as a young woman sex-trafficked from England to the red-light district of Amsterdam, and of her dramatic escape from forced prostitution. But as she relates in this memoir, Sarah's journey from the dark back into light was far from over. She discusses how, still addicted to drugs and drink, she struggled to cope with life, with love, and with the marriage she desperately hoped would bring her happiness. It would take three more long and painful years to be rid of the terrible after-effects of sex slavery. But as she fought her draining battle to survive, Sarah came to realize that there was something she needed to do. It was a decision that would take her back into the modern scandal of sex trafficking--and back into the hell of Amsterdam's red-light district. This is the incredible story of her very personal mental journey to find goodness within herself, and the shocking and painful physical journey to find the sex slaves she left behind. Both are journeys which will take all the strength, courage, and love that she has--but if she is to survive, they are journeys she must make., In the sequel to "Slave Girl," a survivor of the sex trade details her recovery process, which she realizes must include a return to the site of her trauma to aid othersIn "Slave Girl, " Sarah Forsyth told of her terrible ordeal as a young woman sex-trafficked from England to the red-light district of Amsterdam, and of her dramatic escape from forced prostitution. - r***r (2947)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaBook arrived today, 2 days before deadline given by the seller. Well-packaged & in good condition. Price was very competitive, & the book was accurately listed. Great communication. I appreciate the seller getting back to me when I was having trouble tracking the book's delivery progress. Apparently there were 2 different tracking numbers - one in Canada & the other in the U.S., since it was initially shipped from Canada. Thank you very much for your quick response & helpful information.Rethinking Investing: A Very Short Guide to Very Long-Term Investing by Charles (#396183075510)
- e***_ (12)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaSeller handles a massive inventory so I give them grace on the slow processing and shipping. They were very communicative and prompt with their response when I messaged in asking about it. Book was in good condition as described. Small ding on the page edges which wasn't mentioned, but that's fairly common even at your typical book store. Still a good value and I'd buy from them again.
