The gameplay does not offer enemy fire, but the game does end if you crash into enemy vehicles, structures, or the river bank. You must pay attention to your fuel supply throughout the game. If you do not regularly refuel your jet, the game will end, and you must start again. Activision originally released River Raid exclusively for the Atari 2600 home games console in 1982; however, the company later released the game for Atari 8 bit, Atari 5200, ColecoVision, Intellivision, MSX, IBM PCjr, and ZX Spectrum systems as well. This Activision product is the original Atari River Raid game for the 2600 consoles, and it is not compatible with other systems.
