Synopsis
Unlock your inner artist and learn how to draw the human body in this beautiful and instructive book by the acclaimed artist and Ruskin School of Art anatomist Sarah Simblet. In Anatomy for the Artist , Dr Simblet unveils the extraordinary construction of the human body and celebrates its continuing prominence in Western Art today. Combining superb, specially-commissioned photographs of male and female models with historical and contemporary works of art and her own illustrations, Dr Simblet shows us how to look inside the human frame to map its muscle groups, skeletal strength, balance, poise, and grace. Selected drawings superimposed over photographs reveal fascinating relationships between external appearance and internal structure. Six drawing classes guide the reader to see the human body afresh, offering techniques that show how to observe and draw the skeleton, including the head, ribcage, pelvis, hands, and feet. By investigating 10 masterworks, Dr Simblet shows the knowledge and ideas of different artists across time, ranging from Holbein's Christ Entombed to Edward Hopper's Hotel Room . Each masterclass then presents a photographed model set in the same pose so that anatomical comparisons can be made. This imaginative, modern reference book will enhance the drawing and painting techniques of artists at every level., For millennia, the human body has been celebrated as nature's finest masterpiece. This superb drawing guide helps you unravel its complexity and capture its aesthetic on paper. Packed with instructive illustrations and specially-commissioned photographs of male and female models, Anatomy for the Artist unveils the extraordinary construction of the human body and celebrates its continuing prominence in Western Art today. Through her detailed sketches, acclaimed artist Sarah Simblet shows you how to look inside the human frame to map its muscle groups, skeletal strength, balance, poise, and grace. Selected drawings superimposed over photographs reveal fascinating relationships between external appearance and internal structure. Six drawing classes guide you through human anatomy afresh, offering techniques for observing and drawing the skeleton, including the head, ribcage, pelvis, hands, and feet. By investigating a series of masterworks juxtaposed against photographs of real-life models, Dr. Simblet also traces the visions of different artists across time, from Holbein's Christ Entombed to Edward Hopper's Hotel Room. For any artist, learning about the human body is always a palpable delight. This imaginative reference guide will enhance your anatomical drawing and painting techniques at every level.

The Lemax "Cut Above" was packaged well and arrived slightly behind schedule, no fault of the seller but due to the holiday. The item was brand new and exactly as described, and it was priced well with many thanks and kudos to the seller who accepted my offer. He responded promptly and was sincere with the transaction. Although we weren't able to use it in the display we had kept a spot for it. I Would definitely recommend this seller.

Although postage paid, still had to pay more at local post office. Packing was done nicely As described, but did not get the charger. There was no mention of charger not included. Seller did not respond to question about charger. At least it's value for my money as here in SA it is more expensive. Will buy from them again if they have what I want, but will clarify what I want to know first

You did not ask whether the charger is included before purchasing. You asked this question when the product had already arrived to you. As we wrote to you personally, only watches were on sale, only watches were shown in the photo. And this fully corresponds to the description of the product when selling. We value your opinion and will take it into account in our future work. Thank you!
