I feel the majority of the students we see in developmental courses just don't know how to succeed in math and many feel that they never will. A book like this can be the help students need to turn their failure around., The sentences are clear, short, and concise. The text gives excellent advice and does it in a manner that uplifts a student's desire to use these methods. It does not talk down to the student. I have had many students comment on how well they like the text and how it has improved their study habits. . . . The major strength of the text is that it gives sound advice on how to overcome all of the problems students have when taking a math class., Preface to the Instructor / Introduction to the Student / How to Evaluate How Well You Study in Math CoursesPART I: MAKE A FRESH START1. How to Have the Right Attitude in Math CoursesPART II: MAKE SUCCESSFUL COURSE PREPARATION YOUR CONSISTENT ROUTINE2. How to Begin Before Your Math Course Starts3. How to Master the Course Using Four Major Steps4. How to Use Class Time Effectively5. How to Use Your Time Between Classes--Notes and Textbook6. How to Use Your Time Between Classes--Homework and BeyondPART III: MAKE PREPARING FOR TESTS A SURE THING7. How to Aim for Perfection in Your Test Preparation8. How to Make a List of Topics That Might Be Covered on the Test9. How to Master Each Topic10. How to Be a Perfectionist When Preparing for a Test11. How to Take a Math TestPART IV: MAKE USE OF THESE ADDITIONAL STUDY TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR GRADE12. How to Cope with a "Difficult" Teacher13. - r***1 (179)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaThe book was exactly as described and arrived quickly. The only problem is a recurring one with this seller and other similar sellers - the book is poorly packaged in a plastic envelope and gets heavily bumped in shipping. I would like to see the books wrapped before shipment, but I understand this can't be done for cost reason. Luckily it isn't an expensive book, and I will continue to purchase basic books from this seller. A+++++
- k***a (326)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaPositive experience but could be better. Item description was accurate but, it was shipped in a simple bag with no carton or any protection. The bag was broken in places and the USPS bent the book like it was a newspaper and ruined what was an excellent looking book. That was clearly the USPS fault but a "Do Not Bend" or carton would help next time. Otherwise accurate description, value, condition and Fast shipping. I'm a returning customer and will keep buying from World of Books
