I like the harder rubber type surfaces to help with protecting your equipment. I will say it is a little smaller then expected. The camera area will hold one camera and maybe 2 total lenses when you have one atta he'd. Havong the one attached allows use of the side entry. I did use the top area for my 70 200 usm lens. Hung 10x52 binoculars on a carabiner, hung 1 lens on a carabiner, and then water, snacks, and reading material in the top pouch. Was fully packed for a fun outing in the Wild.
