I've tested it and it is plenty good enough for my hobby use. Maybe not if you are intending to use it for industrial inspection. There are no instructions included but it is not hard to figure out. YouTube university helps. I have written a set of instructions based on my best guesses and will post them on the Hobby Machinist site for comment & improvement. The plastic case is better than many.

I spent lots of time on Youtube to understand the calibration and use of the mic. Spent some time practicing with it over the alternative thread wires. Each have there advantage but glad I got this mic. Very nice fit and finish. Paired with the Shars mic stand,they make a great pair!
