Reviews
"A best seller in Britain, this winsome little book is one family's twentieth century, told as a comic strip that fast-forwards through the decades. Briggs's artful rendering of his parents' striving captures the English working class, and as the tale progresses, you find yourself slowly sucked into their daily patter, amused by their cooing voices, impressed by their bravery. At the end, you're hardly prepared for the emotional wallop." -Time "In the details of Briggs's sparkling cartoons, the characters become richly specific and endearing . . . both pathetic and heroic in the face of overwhelmingevents. [They are] what make you read through Ethel & Ernest over again." -Christopher Lehmann-Haupt, New York Times "Ethel & Ernest works brilliantly and artfully as an archetype. It is the author's willingness to frame his love and anguish so piercingly that makes it such a singular piece of work. We should be grateful that Briggs is so brilliantly equipped to remind us of what we u sed to be, and why." -Nick Hornby, New York Times Book Review, "A best seller in Britain, this winsome little book is one family's twentieth century, told as a comic strip that fast-forwards through the decades. - 1***0 (1564)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaAS SHOWN/DESCRIBED. IT IS A GREAT BOOK WITH COLORED INSTRUCTIONS WITHIN. I ONLY SUGGEST THAT ALL SELLERS OF BOOKS WOULD SHOW 2-3 PHOTOS OF ITS CONTENTS. IN DOING SO IT MAY HELP WITH ANY QUESTIONS BUYERS MIGHT HAVE. SECURED PKG, SUPER FAST FREE SHIPPING, SUPER FAST DELIVERY. BOUGHT ITEM, IMMEDIATELY PAID FOR IT, WAS SHIPPED AND DELIVERED WITHIN 24 HOURS VIA AMAZON! I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS OUTSTANDING SELLER! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
- g***n (70)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaI had a very positive interaction with this seller. I bought the book without reading reviews first which some of them made me really nervous but I personally had no problem with shipping speed which I thought was good, packaging was fine, no damage during shipping. I was expecting a like new condition as was stated and did not receive what I define as like new but the seller very quickly and satisfactorily resolved the situation, which I very much appreciated. Thank you.

Seller’s pricing was spot on and when I received it, it was in good condition. Seller actually messaged me when they shipped it (I really appreciated that). Overall I’m happy doing business with them!
