Go treasure hunting in the Amazon and beyond in the "Uncharted" video games for the Sony PlayStation 3, published by Sony Computer Entertainment. This edition is the Dual Pack PS3 collection, released in 2011, which includes two games, "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" and "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves." These Uncharted games are rich in both gameplay and story. The PS3 Dual Pack also includes bonus downloadable content, or DLC, including additional maps, character skins, and animated comics. In the first of the Uncharted games, "Drake's Fortune," you play as Nathan Drake, a fortune-hunter and descendant of Sir Francis Drake, as he hunts for the mythical treasure of El Dorado alongside journalist Elena Fisher. "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" was released by Naughty Dog in 2007 for the PS3 as a single player action-adventure platform video game. The title was well received by players who welcomed it into their collection, and it sold more than one million copies in its first 10 weeks of release. The Uncharted games are a mix of action-adventure and 3-D platforming that use a third-person perspective. Drake can run, jump, swim, grab onto ledges, and perform acrobatic actions throughout the course of the game as he makes his way through the ruins of the uncharted island. In addition to action-adventure exploring, Drake also faces enemies throughout the PS3 game. He can fight them with various moves, which include individual punches and combination attacks. These combo attacks can be unleashed through specific sequences of button presses, and they allow Nate to deal additional damage to the pirates and mercenaries. Not to be left without choices, Drake can carry a pistol and a rifle, allowing him to defend himself at a distance. The games provide a vast collection of firearms from which to choose. Throughout the Playstation title, Nate and Elena will find themselves riding on land and sea vehicles and evading enemies using mounted turret artillery. Reward Points are also provided to players of this PS3 game by collecting treasures hidden throughout the levels or by completing specific tasks to gain the accomplishments. These reward points can be used at the in-game store during future plays of Uncharted games in order to unlock options such as new costumes for Drake or unlimited ammunition. In "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves," the second Playstation game included in the "Uncharted Dual Pack" collection, Nathan Drake returns for an adventure in the Himalayas to search for Shangri-La with his three traveling companions, Chloe Frazer, Elena Fisher, and Victor Sullivan. This sequel includes multiplayer action that utilizes similar gameplay mechanics to the first, including a third-person point of view. "Among Thieves" is also an action-adventure 3-D platformer involving traps and environment navigation, acrobatics, and combat against a variety of enemies that are encountered throughout the game. Nathan Drake can take cover behind walls, fire while moving, and attempt to use stealth to sneak up behind enemies and knock them out. In "Among Thieves," Nathan Drake and two hero characters can be played in both cooperative and competitive multiplayer, which features missions that involve teamwork, action-oriented navigation of the terrain, and gunfights to accomplish specific objectives. Players may also assist their teammates if one becomes injured or grabbed by an enemy. It also utilizes the PS3 six-axis motion detecting hardware in the controller to allow players to throw grenades and balance on precarious environments such as logs and cliffs.
