It may be fueled by alcohol and anger, but it's based on love and loyalty: avenging the dead, defending the living. Few writers today chronicle the landscape of the static poor--those who do dead-end work with no way out--particularly in a rural setting. Daniel Woodrell in one. Offutt is another. With his debut book, North Dixie Highway, Joe Haske joins these ranks. -- Larry Foundation , Author of Angry Nights, Common Criminals, Fish, Soap, and Bonds and Unintended Consequences|9781937875268|, "Lyrical, passionate, unflinching, Joe Haske's fiction grabs hold of you and shakes you to your core. Synopsis
Weaving multiple storylines with vivid description of characters ape, Haske's debut novel brings new life and a unique voice to the fiction of rural America. North Dixie Highway is a story of family bonds, devolution, and elusive revenge. When Buck Metzger's childhood is interrupted by the disappearance of his grandfather, several family members and close friends plot revenge on the suspected killer. From remote towns in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, to the Texas/Mexico border, to war-torn Bosnia, Metzger struggles for self-identity and resolution in a world of blue-collar ethics and liquor-fueled violence., Weaving multiple storylines with vivid description of characters, Haske's debut novel brings new life and a unique voice to the fiction of rural America. ‘Heston's Fantastical Feasts’ was priced reasonably and described (mostly) accurately in the listing. The outside appearance is "Very Good", as stated, but the inside is closer to "Good", due to minor marking. The book arrived within the “Estimated Delivery” window, and it was packaged in a bubble wrap envelope. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase from "Catholic Charities Books".

Great seller, exactly as pictured/described. quick shipping, well packaged. However, shipping label has different name so it makes it hard to match it up with the order/seller name.
