Like a previous buyer, the tether came off the attachment buckle (was only being held in place by 4 thin threads). Retracts like it was made for 10-12 foot lead. Locking mechanism did not lock and the rachet button didn't hold anything. Lucky, I had my dog on 12" hand lead to get home or she may have been injured. I wouldn't try to use it for free. This happened on first use within 200 yards of home. No stars! Seller has good reviews.
