So I contacted the seller and explained the situation and they got in contact with USPS that same day and started a claim to get the package shipped back to them, and then they had it shipped back to me at no charge. The shipping was exceptional, with TONS of packing and insulation to protect the monitor. The thunderbolt cord does have a small tear, but I guess it's to be expected considering the age.
