This album is about the late John Haley "Zoot" Sims, a tenor saxophone god whose joyous sense of swing is still being worshipped today by countless thousands of jazz lovers. If Zoot had been ordained by the musical muses to keep the swing era alive from future generation to enjoy, then enjoy then his church would find Scott Hamilton and Bucky Pizzarelli sitting in the front pew, absorbing the nuances and passing them on. So it's not surprising to find Hamilton and Pizzarellie collaborating for this tribute to one of their soul mates, Zoots Sims, "the saxophone Sulton of Swing."
