This show jumps seven years from where WHAT'S HAPPENING! left off, and the years have been kind to the group. Raj (Ernest Thomas) is now married, and father to a feisty foster child, Carolyn. When he's not busy trying to be a writer, he runs Rob's Diner with the help of Shirley (Shirley Hemphill).
