Product Information
First released as part of the fifth series in 1986, the Hasbro Cobra Battle Android Trooper (B.A.T.) action figure represents the efforts of Cobra, the arch-nemesis of G.I. Joe, to create an android soldier to fight for them on the battlefield. Originally developed by Cobra’s Doctor Mindbender, the B.A.T. saw many modifications and improvements to help it in its battles against G.I. Joe. Coming in a wide range of robot types, the Cobra B.A.T. trooper appeared first in 1986, and then it saw a second version released later on in 1991. Hasbro released the third iteration in 1993 called the Battle Armored Android Trooper (B.A.A.T.). In 2002 the figure saw another release as a part of the re-launch of the G.I. Joe line of toys, this time using a whole new mold. As a part of the Sigma 6 line released in 2005, B.A.T. featured two new figures, Ninja B.A.T. and Sky B.A.T. As part of the 25th Anniversary of G.I. Joe in 2008, Cobra B.A.T. saw another release, this time with a new sculpt based on the original design. The most recent versions include a B.A.T. in Constructicon colors as part of a crossover set with the Transformers in 2012 and as part of an arctic-based two-pack, with a Cobra B.A.T. in snow camouflage facing off against Snow Job from the G.I. Joe team. The original Cobra B.A.T. came in a black military uniform with yellow and silver trim. The front of the figure featured a 3D hologram on the chest plate that was meant to represent the robot’s circuitry. In addition, the Cobra B.A.T. action figure comes with a variety of accessories, most notably attachments for its left hand. These include a silver hand, claw, gun, and flamethrower. The Cobra B.A.T. action figure also came with a black backpack that was meant to hold three of the attachments while they were not in use. With over 24 different versions of the 3-3/4-inch Cobra B.A.T. action figures available to play within the G.I. Joe: Real American Hero toy line, collectors of all ages have a wide selection of action figures to choose from. Placed alongside Cobra leaders Cobra Commander and Destro, the B.A.T. action figure’s versatility helps it to round out the enemy’s fighting forces. Add a Cobra B.A.T. to your G.I. Joe action figure collection, and take the fight to the G.I. Joe team.
