Bought as a replacement for same brand thermometer which finally packed up after a decade's exposure to the weather tucked under the balustrade of our balcony. As the thermometer is not waterproof I taped over the battery cover to protect against rain and it survived better than I expected. Note that the protector tab for the battery which is supplied is hard to see, being made of clear plastic.
