The trackpad was defective because as soon as I installed it and clicked the trackpad a couple of times, the circuit board de-bonded from one the aluminum mounts. The adhesive applied by the OEM is either old or ineffective. I would return the product, but I've already reattached the mount using hot glue, so I doubt the product is returnable now. Not worth my time anyway.
