Uprising from 3DO and Cyclone Studios blends together 3D real-time strategy gameplay with first person shooter action, as gamers take on the role of the commander of rebel forces against the Imperials. Players control the action from within a Wraith super tank that serves as a mobile command unit. Using the Wraith, gamers travel with their forces in attempts to attack enemy citadels, while also building their own bases from which to call in infantry, tank, and air support for their battle efforts. Players defend their citadels by deploying the same tank, infantry, and air support units, but also by building stationary gun emplacements and a limited number of surface-to-air-missile sites. Once a citadel is online, gamers can also take direct control of its main gun to assist in defense.
