Product Information
Written more than 70 years ago, 1984 was George Orwell's chilling prophecy about the future. And while 1984 has come and gone, his dystopian vision of a government that will do anything to control the narrative is timelier than ever... - Nominated as one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read - " The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. " Winston Smith toes the Party line, rewriting history to satisfy the demands of the Ministry of Truth. With each lie he writes, Winston grows to hate the Party that seeks power for its own sake and persecutes those who dare to commit thoughtcrimes. But as he starts to think for himself, Winston can't escape the fact that Big Brother is always watching... A startling and haunting novel, 1984 creates an imaginary world that is completely convincing from start to finish. No one can deny the novel's hold on the imaginations of whole generations, or the power of its admonitions--a power that seems to grow, not lessen, with the passage of time.

- *****- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaAlthough the seller initially annoyed me by refusing to cancel my order when I found the book elsewhere for like $20 less, he ultimately redeemed himself with fast shipping that got this book to me 1 day before its official release date. Book itself is in pristine condition and was well-packaged. So all in all, I'm counting this as a win. I'd do business with him again. Thanks!
- *****- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaThe book was swiftly delivered within a week. It was exactly as described in the listing, and worth the price paid both for the book and shipping.
- *****- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaOverall I would not purchase from this seller again. Shipping costs was $9.99 but when looking at the USPS website, the seller most likely paid about $4.63. I ordered this book Feb. 1, but it wasn't mailed out until Feb. 8, after I inquired on the status. The item was exactly as described, but I would not order from them again due to overcharging for shipping and being slow to mail out my item.
