I would not recommend this for someone not familiar with repairing electronics, but I got the wires soldered, put it back together, and my drive is fixed! Now, do I buy some for my other 3 drives....? I missed out on the last time they had some. Definitely buying more when I can.

Only other thing worth mentioning is that while the listing says it requires no soldering, this is not the case if you replace the entire deck. There are two wires you need to de-solder to get the old deck out then you need to solder the ones for the new deck in the same place. Not a big deal if you can solder but worth mentioning. You don't have to solder the wires, you can cut & splice the old wires to the new. Soldering is more stable, but splicing is also possible. Thanks again!

Seller confirmed the laser was new abd the unit is in very good condition. However, the carrier frame has evidence of being harvested, whether this was from an unused unit or not and whether a new laser itself was placed on it is hard to verify. That being said, the unit was installed and operated as expected. Pictures shows leads before being soldered as they were received with unit.

I initially requested an exchange and messaged the seller, but since I didn’t hear back right away, I went ahead and initiated a return. The seller processed the refund smoothly, which I appreciated. And the listing said "new," so I was surprised by the condition; it may be due to long-term storage, but it's something to be aware of.

The seller is easy and swift to communicate with and very understanding of product issues. I received a replacement in no time and this screen works perfectly! The seller made sure to package the screen with care to ensure it would not be damaged during shipping.
