Successful racers use their prize money to purchase improvements for their vehicles, such as a higher performance exhaust system, an improved suspension, or special off-road racing tires. In addition to the Macintosh release, versions of 4x4 Evolution are available for PC and the Dreamcast. Regardless of which platform they use, players with any version of the game can compete against one another online.
