Still, I had to have it when I saw the date, 26 April 1948. I had always assumed the couple had celebrated their silver wedding on 23 April 1948, St George's Day. That would have seemed very appropriate. However, the significance for me of the 26th was that it was the 21st birthday of my late mother! Anyway, a very nice item at very reasonable cost. Money really well spent.
