Reviews
Praise for Xenocide : "Orson Scott Card made a strong case for being the best writer science fiction has to offer." - The Houston Post on Xenocide "Card has raised to a fine art the creation of suspense by means of ethical dilemmas." - Chicago Sun-Times on Xenocide, "The somber basso voice of Stefan Rudnicki and two well-chosen players march through the story, with a young man's voice particularly effective in segments featuring the angst-ridden teenager. This is an outstanding job, with more to come." AudioFile Magazine, "The somber basso voice of Stefan Rudnicki and two well-chosen players march through the story, with a young man's voice particularly effective in segments featuring the angst-ridden teenager. This is an outstanding job, with more to come." AudioFile Magazine   "As the narration passes from character to character, the talented cast... easily keeps listeners intrigued with skillful characterizations that feature unique voices, accents, and dialects. And by the time the huge alien ship arrives and the story kicks into high gear, listeners will be utterly captivated by this exciting adventure." Publishers Weekly, "This Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel is given award-winning treatment as an audiobook. Stefan Rudnicki's resonant voice provides the main narration...Ender's Game offers outstanding production and first-rate narration. Don't miss it." -Audiofile on Ender's Game; Audiofile Earphones Award winner "Card's phenomenal emotional depth comes through in the quiet, carefully paced speech of each performer. No narrator tries overmuch to create separate character voices, though each is clearly discernible, and the understated delivery will draw in listeners. In particular, Rudnicki, with his lulling, sonorous voice, does a fine job articulating Ender's inner struggle between the kind, peaceful boy he wants to be and the savage, violent actions he is frequently forced to take. This is a wonderful way to experience Card's best-known and most celebrated work, both for longtime fans and for newcomers." -Publishers Weekly on Ender's Game "Stefan Rudnicki's depiction of the all-knowing Ender emphasizes their different personalities...the narrators are expert at giving the characters individual flair. Listeners should prepare to enter Card's world with the previous stories fresh in their minds." -Audiofile on Children of the Mind "Like the hero of this novel, Stefan Rudnicki, in his exotic baritone, leads a team of readers...Just as Alvin is able to make bridges and buildings through his mystical "knack," Rudnicki and team bring Card's fantastic tapestry to life with their own narrative knacks." -Audiofile on The Crystal City; Audiofile Earphones Award winner "The professional cast of narrators gives a spirited and dynamic reading of this science fiction series. Their individual styles are complementary, and the story passes among them seamlessly." -Audiofile on Shadow of the Giant, "The somber basso voice of Stefan Rudnicki and two well-chosen players march through the story, with a young man's voice particularly effective in segments featuring the angst-ridden teenager. This is an outstanding job, with more to come." AudioFile Magazine   "As the narration passes from character, the talented cast easily keeps listeners intrigued with skillful characterizations that feature unique voices, accents, and dialects. Synopsis
Before Ender Wiggin was born, before the Battle School was built, the aliens brought war to Earth A hundred years before Ender's Game , humans thought they were alone in the galaxy. Humanity was slowly making their way out from Earth to the planets and asteroids of the Solar System, exploring and mining and founding colonies. The mining ship El Cavador is far out from Earth, in the deeps of the Kuiper Belt, beyond Pluto. Other mining ships, and the families that live on them, are few and far between this far out. So when El Cavador 's telescopes pick up a fast-moving object coming in-system, it's hard to know what to make of it. It's massive and moving at a significant fraction of the speed of light. But the ship has other problems. Their systems are old and failing. The family is getting too big. There are claim-jumping corporates bringing Asteroid Belt tactics to the Kuiper Belt. Worrying about a distant object that might or might not be an alien ship seems. not important. They're wrong. It's the most important thing that has happened to the human race in a million years. This is humanity's first contact with an alien race. The First Formic War is about to begin. Book was exactly as described for a fair price. Shipping time wasn't bad either. My only issue was the packaging. It was sent in just regular padded envelope no foam or cardboard in sight. There was a tear in the envelope but Luckily I received the book without any damage but it could've been an issue.
