It is specially designed to work with the iPad Pro 11 Apple Folio case. It does make it easier and more well protected in a case. With this case installed, the pencil correctly and magnetically orients itself optimally. It also protects the iPad edges pretty well. Cons: The case does not readily snap into the correctly aligned position to support easy button access. Same for charging port. Makes initial setup kind of cumbersome.
