Over recent years, planning law has become so complex that students and practitioners alike have often found it difficult to disentangle the complicated issues and principles involved. The Planning and Compensation Act 1991 has added further to the complexity. In addition to making major changes to the enforcement provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, many other provisions of the 1990 Act were amended by the 1991 Act in a way that has had a substantial impact on both planning law and practice. This edition reflects the lastest judicial and other interpretations of the new provisions. It also includes references to a number of proposals for further change to the planning system still being considered. The book has also been updated to take account of the Environment Act 1995, the Town and Country Planning (General Development Procedure) Order 1995. Copies of the two Orders are included in the appendices.
