The hardware will automatically assign each core a different task. You can run multiple programs or downloads in the background without putting any duress on the CPU. You can access programs simultaneously, even while you're playing a game or browsing the web. This multi-core microprocessor will improve your productivity and let you get more work done. It also delivers twice the performance for highly-threaded software applications, such as games and media. With the processor's advanced security features, it can prevent dangerous buffer overflow attacks from infecting your computer. Based on Intel's Core 2 micro-architecture, the QX6700 boasts a 1066 MHz front-side bus speed. The FSB is the part of the microprocessor that transfers data between its different components. It also has a large 8MB of L2 cache memory. This is a smaller, faster source of memory that stores the most frequently accessed data from the main RAM. It means that the processor delivers larger bandwidth and faster speeds than previous Core 2 Duo CPUs. The Extreme QX6700 boasts five major technological advancements that boost performance by as much as 40% over comparable processors. The Intel Wide Dynamic Execution technology delivers more instructions per clock cycle, improving the processor's execution time and energy efficiency. The Intelligent Power Capability carefully manages the processor's power consumption by turning on individual subsystems only when they're most needed. The Intel Smart Cache system lets all the cores share access to the L2 data in a much more efficient manner. Smart Memory Access optimizes the use of data bandwidth, ensuring data is located closely to where it's needed. The Advanced Digital Media Boost technology accelerates multimedia capabilities. Intel's Extreme QX6700 card operates at a maximum temperature of around 65 degrees Celsius or 149 degrees Fahrenheit. Both heatsink and fan cooling solutions are embedded directly in the card. It also has a peak power consumption of 130 watts. That is the maximum power a processor can dissipate while operating at its base clock speed with all cores active. The processing card will constantly monitor the CPU's temperature and make corrections. This helps to keep the computer within a stable temperature range. The Intel Core 2 Extreme fully supports 64-bit editions of Windows operating system on desktop, mobile, laptop, and server-based platforms.
