At the heart of the book is a detailed chronological episode guide and profiles of the major characters, including interviews with the actors and a section on the the dolphins who played the part of Darwin, the talking dolphin. There is also detailed information on the SeaQuest submarine itself, with cutaway illustrations and annotated diagrams, and blueprints of the vessel and all peripheral machinery. Throughout the text there are facts which tie in with the information given by the Marine Biological Institution at the end of every episode.
