I even took my wheels to the bike shop and they couldn't understand either. I did some research and figured out the tire size isn't a 26 x 1 3/8. It's actually a little larger diameter and a little thinner width. I dug back and found these tires by Kenda. They fit perfect and let me ride the bike for the first time in decades. THe tires arrived new, they look great, and the price is reasonable.
