Synopsis
When Marines enter an abandoned house in Fallujah, Iraq, and hear a suspicious noise, they clench their weapons, edge around the corner, and prepare to open fire. What they find during the U.S -led attack on the "most dangerous city on Earth," however, is not an insurgent bent on revenge, but a tiny puppy left behind when most of the city's population fled before the bombing. Despite military law that forbids the keeping of pets, the Marines de-flea the pup with kerosene, de-worm him with chewing tobacco, and fill him up on Meals Ready to Eat. Thus begins the dramatic rescue attempt of a dog named Lava and Lava's rescue of at least one Marine, Lieutenant Colonel Jay Kopelman, from the emotional ravages of war. From hardened Marines to war-time journalists to endangered Iraqi citizens, From Baghdad, With Love tells an unforgettable true story of an unlikely band of heroes who learn unexpected lessons about life, death, and war from a mangy little flea-ridden refugee., A war memoir that will capture the hearts of its readers, just as one scruffy puppy snuck his way into the hearts of hardened Marines just when they needed it most., A war memoir that will capture the hearts of its readers, just as one scruffy puppy sneaked his way into the hearts of hardened Marines just when they needed it most., During his tour of duty in Iraq, Lt. Colonel Jay Kopelman of the US Marines suffered the emotional ravages common for those involved in the bloody battle for Falujah. This text tells the story of how Kopelman and his comrades, breaking the military rules forbidding pets, adopted an abandoned puppy left behind after the battle.

Glad the seller packed so well, because the box was dented on arrival but the item, a Schildt glass paperweight, was fine. Thanks! Quickly shipped, well described, great price. A+/5* seller.

Just like the excellent, sharp photos. Giving the dimensions in the description would have been helpful (it's bigger than I expected). Packed with bubble-wrap in a roomy and very sturdy box. Thanks for the free shipping! An A+ seller!

I don't know about you, but I am living on a fixed budget. Getting older is not all it's cracked up to be, yet there is usually somebody willing to do something nice. I explained I am trying to save anywhere I can and these folks very generously accepted my offer. It's nice to do business with people that aren't trying to make their fortune off of you, just an honest profit. Good communication, fast and secure shipping. Exactly as described, and I just bought from them again! Thank you.
