This Dual Inline Memory Module, or DIMM, is compatible with all DDR2 motherboards with dual channels. These high-quality, unregistered modules have a column access strobe, or CAS latency, of 5, providing an extremely low delay rate for data response. The XMS2-6400 also features a voltage of 1.9 V and a timing rate of 5-5-5-18.Those wanting to install more than one XMS2 stick are able to do so, and those who install more than 4GB worth of RAM will find they are compatible with a 64-bit operating system. Those systems with more than 1GB, but less than 4GB, are compatible with the 32-bit operating systems. Installation of the Corsair XMS2-6400 1GB stick is extremely simple and takes only a few minutes. Once the computer is powered down, open up the case and insert the 240 pins into the open motherboard slot. Ensure it is firmly installed and the motherboard secured back into place, and then close the case and power the PC back on. An optional step is to open up the BIOS upon rebooting and changing options if overclocking is desired.These 240-pin Corsair sticks are extremely small in size at only 6 by 1 by 2 inches.
