Product Information
In Dragonfire, players guide a valiant prince who must retake his castle, and the priceless treasures within, from the vicious dragon who has taken over. In the first screen, the prince must make a mad dash from the right side of the screen to the castle on the left, ducking and jumping over an onslaught of fireballs. In the second screen, the prince must evade more fireballs hurled by the enormous dragon roaming the screen, gathering treasures from around the room and escaping with his life. In either stage, coming into contact with the fireball or the dragon itself is lethal. Clearing the treasure screen takes the player back to the first stage, each time more difficult than the last. Dragonfire is a good example of a game ideally suited to the Intellivision's controller, especially in the free-roaming frenzy that is the second stage. The graphics are a major improvement over the Atari VCS version of Dragonfire, and later levels heat up with faster fireballs until the prince eventually winds up deep-fried. But until the prince is literally toast, Dragonfire will get players' trigger fingers fired up.
