There is small cracks and nicks along the length which renders it unsafe to use for any thing other than display. The ends are rounded instead of flat which is not regulation which is illegal to use in competition. It is oddvously not hard wood it is far too light and ways to whittle to be a hardwood. This is obviously a practice staff and not a competition staff. Do yourself a favor and block them to save yourself a headache.

Worth getting the postal insurance for these types of items. When it looked as if it would be arriving late, I sent the seller a question asking if there was a tracking number associated with my purchase. I never received a response to my question either. I had to get eBay involved to get a refund. Save yourself the hassle and do business with a different seller. I wish I had paid heed to the other buyers who had already left negative feedback for the same issue.
