The figures f/3.5 to 4.5 refer to the maximum aperture of the Nikkor; the minimum is 22. Close-ups focused at 10 inches are possible with manual adjustments of the Sigma optics. With autofocus capabilities, any focal length can be applied down to 2.8 feet. Aperture can be controlled manually within the lens apparatus with macro mode.
