This black Sony Handycam CCD-TR916 camcorder is a simple Hi8 camcorder that works well. With an adjustable LCD screen on the Sony Handycam CCD-TR916, users do not have to stand directly behind the camcorder. This Sony video recorder uses an 8 mm cassette tape with long play and extended play. A minimum of 45 minutes can be recorded on this Sony video recorder without sacrificing on recording quality or worrying about battery life. Also, the 15x zoom feature allows users to capture video from a distance, such as sporting events, and Sony's proprietary Super Steadyshot algorithm eliminates most camera bounce. Other features on this Hi8 camcorder include a friendly reminder tone when the tape is almost out and a standby and auto update feature. Video is recorded in digital format with this Sony Handycam CCD-TR916, giving it 400 lines of resolution instead of the 240 lines that VHS tapes are capable of. This is an excellent first camera for the young videographer in the family.
