Starting off as a simplistic cartoon spin-off of The Tracey Ullman Show, The Simpsons became a widely successful satire of modern society. Throughout the years since its debut (1989), it has been a television mainstay; whether creator Matt Groening parodied an oil spill or sent Bart Simpson on a wacky adventure with his friends, it remained one of FOX's top-rated shows.<br><br>Now, they're tackling another American phenomenon -- professional wrestling! The Simpsons Wrestling parodies the so-called business of sports entertainment with 22 characters (13 of which are playable) from the fictitious town of Springfield. Including the immediate family of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson, you can wrestle as the town drunk Barney or the Kwik-E-Mart attendant Apu.<br><br>Like televised wrestling, such as the World Wrestling Federation or Ted Turner's World Championship Wrestling, each character has his or her own signature moves. Homer Simpson uses a devastating choke called the Strangulator and Barney emits a foul-smelling Duff Cloud Burp. Additionally, you'll be wrestling in actual Springfield locations (represented in full 3D) including a watering hole known as Moe's Tavern, Barney's Bowl-O-Rama, and Krusty the Klown's Krusty Lu Studios.<br><br>The Simpsons Wrestling features two gameplay options: Tournament and Grudge Match modes. The Tournament mode is a heated single-player competition against computer-controlled opponents. By defeating the opposition, you'll be crowned the best wrestler in Springfield and unlock secret characters and locations! The two-player Grudge Match is a no-frills brawl for it all...or at least bragging rights as to who is the better wrestler.<br><br>Finally, FOX Interactive has included over 240 pieces of actual voice-acted audio samples and crude wrestling taunts! Needless to say, you'll be able to see and hear Bart Simpson in all his glory after defeating any given opponent. The game is also compatible with analog controls, the Dual Shock Analog Controller's vibration function, and a memory card for saving data.<br><br>What are you waiting for?
