Product Information

David Hall

This is the first year of issue for the 1860-1864 copper-nickel type. The 1860 is slightly rarer in mint state than the 1862 and 1863. In Gem MS65 condition, the 1860 to 1863 issues are all about equal rarity. But interestingly, the once thought of as "most common" 1863 is rarest of the four in superb MS66 or better.

The typical 1860 is well struck. Luster is considerably better than you usually see on the 1859.
Product Identifiers
