Disgaea 2 features an isometric viewpoint and colorful sprite-based characters as players take turns moving their units across various battlefields in the world of Veldime. Proper positioning is important for characters to execute various combo attacks or to take advantage of special ability-enhancing status boosts. <br><br>After each battle, acquired items, weapons, and armor can be traded for more powerful equipment from local shops and vendors. New to the series is a "dark court" system that judges the party's actions on the battlefield, with rewards given to those who go out of their way to be evil. The storyline finds protagonist Adell trying to reverse a magical curse that has transformed his friends into demons.
