Product Information
Immortalized in Jackie Chan martial arts films, WAY OF THE RAT profiles a roguish, small-time thief who becomes a big-time hero. In the first volume, Boon Sai Hong, a talented burglar from the walled city of Zhumar, conducts a routine robbery unaware that his stolen artifacts have vast magical powers that can alter the course of history. He befriends a talking monkey named Po Po who informs him of his booty's significance. The Ring of Staffs, Po Po explains, endows the wearer with supernatural martial arts skills, and the Book of the Hell of the Hungry Dragons contains a scroll that can open the door to Hell itself. Boon becomes the target for several groups intent on getting the artifacts, including a dangerously ambitious city leader, a group of brutish gangsters led by evil mastermind Bhuto Khan, and the daughter of the emperor. In the second volume, the now famous Boon visits the sneaky Judge X'Ain and loses the Book of the Hell of the Hungry Dragons. The judge tries to use it, and unleashes a bloodthirsty dragon instead.
