These alternators are difficult to rebuild, and you MUST desolder a lot of wires to get to the brush housing. I guess you could just remove the brushes and slide them into your old housing but you still need to desolder the regulator connection and be able to remove the standoff tube that is on top of the regulator. Not for the average home mechanic.
