Cameos from favorite fairy-tale characters Big Bad Wolf, Three Little Pigs, and the Three Blind Mice grace the storyline as refugees cast from their homes by an evil Lord Farquaad, voiced by John Lithgow. Based on the children's book by William Steig, Shrek features additional voice-over work from Eddie Murphy as Shrek's sidekick in the form of a pop-song-crooning donkey.
