I believe this is a China import. FYI: All "Made in China" Trim Senders I've evaluated have this same minor problem. The rubber water seal molded onto the cable is oriented reversed from the needed position - the flange of the rubber seal prevents the cable and seal prevents installation from the exterior. I cut off the seal and manually caulked the transom pass-thru hole. A-Okay now
